    • Chives – adds a light, herbaceous onion flavor
    • Parsley – has a fresh, clean flavor with a touch of earthiness
    • Dill – lends a citrusy, slightly grassy flavor with hints of lemon and anise
    • Mustard powder – adds depth and complexity
    • Salt and pepper – brings the flavors together

    Instructions

White bowl of mixed dairy free ranch dressing with a small wood spoon in the bowl.

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix until combined.

    For a finer seasoning

White mortar and pestal with homemade ranch seasoning mix.

Use a mortar and pestle to grind the herbs and spices into a powder.

Coffee grinder with ground gluten free ranch seasoning mix.

Alternatively, you can add the combined ingredients to a spice grinder and grind until the mix reaches your desired texture.

    How to store

Store in an airtight container with a tight fitting lid for up to a year.  Storing in a glass jar will keep your spices fresh for longer.  And, it’s always best to store your spices away from light and heat for optimal flavor and freshness.

    How to use

    • Dressings and dips – this makes the best creamy salad dressing and seasoning for dips
    • Season meats – try adding to pork chops, season an Oven Roasted Chicken, salmon or in chicken or tuna salad
    • Vegetable seasoning – sprinkle over cooked veggies or toss with vegetables before roasting

    Variations

    • Spicy ranch – to make your ranch dressing spicy, simply add a touch of cayenne to the recipe.   Start with ⅛ teaspoon and adjust according to your taste.
    • Vinegar powder – add ½ teaspoon for an extra flavor that is very similar to the tang from buttermilk
    • Low sodium ranch seasoning – make a salt-free ranch seasoninging by eliminating the salt
    • AIP ranch dressing mix – use this mix to make a phenomenal AIP ranch dressing or dip. Just leave out the pepper and mustard powder. This also makes the best AIP taco seasoning!
